School Policies
1. INSTRUMENT
Students are expected to have regular access to a fully working and maintained instrument.
2. PRACTICE
Students are required to schedule daily practice at home. Parents are encouraged to oversee daily practice sessions. Students are expected to have assignments completed consistently.
3. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Parents of students up to the age of 12 are strongly encouraged to be be present during lessons and practice sessions at home. At a minimum parents must be aware of weekly assignments and short/long term goals through weekly communication with the teacher.
4. ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance is required. Students with excessive absences may be dropped from the school.
5. HEALTH/HYGIENE
Students, parents, and siblings experiencing any symptoms of illness are asked to reschedule or to request an online lesson. Students arriving at a lesson exhibiting any symptoms will not be admitted into the studio. Before each lesson, students are required to thoroughly wash hands. As needed, parents are asked to supervise to ensure this is done properly. Students are further asked to arrive at lessons without excess dirt on clothes or skin.
6. TUITION
All payments are automatically processed monthly by ACH debits or by Credit Card on the first business day of the month.* Payments made by credit card will incur an additional 3% fee. Monthly payments vary depending on the number of weeks in a month. For example, if your lessons are on Tuesdays, on months with five Tuesdays you will be billed for 5 lessons. Lessons are NOT conducted on holidays, and you will not be billed for those days.** Tuition does not include books and recital fees. Tuition is not refunded or prorated for missed lessons.
*If your first lesson falls after the first week of the month, you will only be billed for the week you begin and for the rest of the weeks of the month. Regular billing as described above will apply after your first month.

7. CANCELLATIONS AND MAKEUP LESSONS
For any lesson to be missed by the teacher, a makeup will be arranged promptly, or in some cases will be reflected on the tuition bill. For lessons missed by the student, makeups may be scheduled. All cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance in order to receive a makeup lesson. No refunds are given for lessons missed by the student, nor will tuition be prorated in such cases.
8. SUMMER VACATION
Students are expected to continue lessons throughout the year, including summer.
9. DISCONTINUING LESSONS
Should you wish to discontinue your lessons, it is necessary to do so in writing, by the 15th of the month. Discontinuing after the 15th will result in a full charge for the following month, whether you decide to avail of the lessons or not.
